Ringbrothers’ Mike and Jim Ring stop by to talk about building some of the most innovative cars the industry has ever seen. They also join Adam and Matt for a new segment answering listener emails about cruise control and engines. Afterwards, Matt and the Ring brothers head to the CarCast Lot to give a tour of ‘Recoil,’ a custom-built 1966 Chevy Chevelle.
The great John Hotchkis talks about the whodunnit of putting vintage race cars back together and his company’s new line of Mustang parts and sway bars. Then we look at the “Fine Dime,” a 1969 Chevy C10 outfitted with a full Hotchkis suspension kit and a 370 hp LS-1 motor.
Tim Miller started Surf City Garage, which is the home to over 130 vintage muscle cars. He has just launched a Surf City Garage line of detailing products for enthusiasts and professionals. Tim gives us some simple detailing tips and talks about how to undertake a restoration on a budgets both big and small. Then he shows us his father’s ’58 Apache truck, which he rebuilt from a basket case.
Actor Danny Trejo has been in movies like Machete and Death Race 2. He tells us how he went from being a drug addict and criminal to being one of the most recognizable characters in the movies. Danny brings us his mildly customized 1952 Chevy pickup.
Adam and Matt field your questions and discuss high revs vs. big displacement, why his Ferrari is still at Jay Leno’s shop, why Adam doesn’t own a 370z and so much more. Then we check out the 2013 supercharged Camaro ZL1!
Mister Cartoon is an artist and car customizer. He started out doing graffiti, later doing murals, album art, logos and tattoos. Also joining us is Cartoon’s friend, photographer Estevan Oriol. Together, they have just launched Sanctiond, a new car care product line. Mister Cartoon also shows us his ’61 Impala lowrider.
This weeks featured car, well, truck was built by Bodie Stroud (BS Hot Rods). The 1956 Supercharged Ford F100 was built for Bodie’s Father-in-law. It features a supercharged small block Chevy, and all the nice work one can expect from a Son-in-law. Bodie wouldn’t admit who got the better end of the bargain, but the truck is smoking hot. Even Sonny takes a look at the Ford and gives it thumbs up!
